Employee engagement is distinctly different from employee satisfaction. Employee engagement is the extent to which employees feel passionate about their jobs, are committed to the organization and put discretionary effort into their work. Employee satisfaction only indicates how happy or content your employees are. It does not address their level of motivation, involvement or emotional commitment. For some employees, being satisfied simply means collecting a paycheck while doing as little work as possible. Our goal should be to engage rather than merely satisfy our employees. This webinar will assist you in understanding the process to be followed to do so.
Probation is a useful tool, but is has to be managed and administrated properly. The employer should ensure that it does not find itself stuck with an incompetent employee simply because it did not use the available processes properly. On the other hand, probation should not be used by employers to abuse new employees who are eager to please; or see it as a period during which the probationary employee can almost be dismissed ‘at will’ – regardless of whether it is related to performance, misbehaving or simply because the employer does not like the employee.

When people hear the word "Employer Branding", they often associate it with talent attraction. Nothing could be further from the truth, as SA companies need to shift their focus beyond attracting the best talent, to that of nurturing, inspiring and retaining them.
Employer branding has moved beyond being an HR, Marketing and Communications function to that of a business function, involving commitment from multiple stakeholders. Insights confirm that economic growth factors don't necessarily hamper implementing an employer branding strategy, but driving the awareness, importance and capability within your executive and leadership team within an organization.
An employer is entitled to insist on reasonably harmonious interpersonal relationships within its business. Incompatibility arises where an employee creates discord and disharmony and is generally unable to fit into the Company’s corporate culture. During the webinar, we will discuss how to address incompatibility in the workplace which does not fall squarely in one of the three recognised grounds for dismissal and is a more nebulous concept.
