Hay Group has launched its annual Best Companies for Leadership survey, the largest global business leadership study of its kind. Now in its 9th year, the survey asks people to rate their own leadership and to nominate organisations they rate among the best.

When published, the study gives powerful insights into the latest and best practices, such as who is best at leading and why, whether organisations need to benchmark their leadership credentials against other global organisations, build the business case for developing their next generation of leaders or simply learn more about the latest leadership trends.

The survey provides the opportunity for participants to join a global network of survey participants and find out

which qualities they believe, make the best leadership organisation, together with invaluable insights into forthcoming leadership trends and to see how their respective organisations measure up against the world’s best.

Said Agustina Mendez, leadership and talent practice head at Hay Group South Africa says: “We analyse precisely what sets the best apart from the rest. The survey highlights trends around leadership development and talent management, and best practices that give successful companies their competitive edge. No matter how good its leadership practice, any organisation can lean something.”

With more than 18 000 participants from over 2 200 organisations globally having taken part last year, companies have found the results of the annual survey to be of strategic value. “At Unilever we view the Best Companies for Leadership survey as a critical external benchmark for how we are growing our leadership capability,” said Stephen Lochhead, VP global talent and resourcing at Unilever. “The data-driven insights really help us realise what we need to build to grow our leadership reputation further. The results of the survey are shared up, down and across the company, which galvanises our ambition to one day become the very best company for leadership.”

All participants have access to the white paper and case studies on the top 20 best companies, as well as a webinar on the results. If 25 or more employees from any one organisation take part in the survey, they receive a free, tailored report showing how their leadership compares with other global organisations.

The complimentary survey, which takes no more than 25 minute, ends on 30 June, with each participant receiving a complimentary report of the survey findings once it is published in November. To access the survey visit
