Notice Periods

Quick reference guide to the legally required notice periods that need to be given by employers and employees.
Length of Service	Notice Period Required
Six months or less	One week
More than six months but less than one year	Two weeks
One year or more	Four weeks

This does not apply to Farm Workers or Domestic Employees. Four weeks notice is applicable to these employees after six months service.
These notice periods do not apply to employees who work for less than 24 hours a month.
